Children/Youth Ministry Mission Statement: 

The mission of the Children/Youth Ministry is to provide for the Spiritual growth of the youth people with the goal to evangelize and win them to Christ; ground them in Christian faith and Scripture and make them effective members of the church.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CHILDREN/YOUTH MINISTER:

The Anchorage Moravian Church Children/Youth Facilitator will be responsible for the implementation of the Mission Statement.

1.  Position Called:  Children/Youth Facilitator.

2.  Accountable to:  Board of Elders and/or Pastor of AncMC

3.  Ministry Target:  Children/youth/young adults of AncMC so as to lead them toward Spiritual maturity.

4.  Paid:  8-12 hours a week at $10/hr

5.  Filled by: (What type of person)  Qualified person who is a Bible-believing Christian.  Beliefs - Agrees with the doctrine of the Moravian Church.

6.  Maturity Level - Minimum maturity level:  Bible believer whose faith in Christ is mature.

7.  Spiritual gifts:  Knowledge, wisdom, prophesy, teaching.  See I Corinthians 12:7-11 for guidance.  (Spiritually gifted and filled with the Holy Spirit.

8.  Talent Desired:  Experienced, organizational skills, detail oriented, patience, willing to learn and serve, musically inclined, motivational skills, good communication skills, loving, humor; bilingual a plus.

9.  Best Personality Traits:  dependable, friendly, discreet, professional, neat, good role model.

10. Passion for reaching children/youth of today; strengthening body of Christ in growing children.

11. Length of service commitment:  Three years, but performance subject to review at least once a year by CYMC and subject to the Board of Elders.  Three years is suggested since the person may take a while to adapt to the children/youth.

12. Anticipated time:  approximately 8-12 hours per week; do ministry and preparing for ministry; participate in meetings or workshops and training; time should be spent preparing, getting materials and teaching per week.  This person will be under contract.  (This will be reviewed periodically to determine more realistic hours necessary for this ministry).

13. Responsibilities and duties:  Reports to the Board of Elders and Board of Trustees on the activities of the Children's/Youth Ministry.  Facilitate Children/Youth activities during worship servicess; sends out cards; follow up phone calls; outings, camping and hiking; copies for teachers to study; keep records; calendars for events, advent, Christmas, Easter, etc.; Use of facilities belonging to someone else; making requests for funds; invite kids from other churches for joint ministry with other Christ-based denominations.
