Anchorage Moravian Church

Allowing God's Spirit and His Word to touch many lives for Christ among Alaska's Native people.
The love of music and the many musical talents of its members is a blessing not easily forgotten.

If the Holy Spirit is tugging at your heart to worship, come and experience it with us.

You will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Yup'ik Eskimo, Inupiat and English at our services!

Friday night Soup Kitchen has needs:  Church member Anecia Chicklak runs a Friday night downtown soup kitchen, which she says involves as many as 100 street people per night.  These men and women are hungry and cold.  She recently received a $100 donation which she will use to purchase socks to give away.  Used winter clothing is always needed.  Sister Anecia needs donations of meat (fish, caribou or moose) for the hot soup.  Every once in a while she needs a driver.  Also needed are soul winners to assist Anecia.  These are individuals that are called of God to offer counsel and prayer for individuals on the street.  If you would like to help in this Mother Theresa style of ministry, please contact Anecia, anytime, at 278-1991.  She also wants to donate the following items:  2 Walkers; 1 Cane; 4 Tires for van.  Call her at 278-1991.

New Church Employee hire:  The AncMC Joint Board in action on Sunday November 16, 2008 voted to hire the following people:  Hospital Chaplain, Br. Fred Nielsen; Children Facilitator, Sister Carrie Paton; and Administrative Assistant, Sister Shawna Nicholson.  The position of Chaplain is funded mainly by the Alaska Province and partially by the AncMC.

Church Van Drivers Needed:  If you are interested in a Church van driver ministry for the AncMC, feel free to contact either one of the Trustees or Pastor Nicholson.

General Fund Giving:  As a result of the stewardship drive from September 16, 2008 through November 16, 2008, the General Fund (GF) giving is down.  Please consider giving more to the GF during the Advent season and for the remainder of the year.  Reason is so that we can better fund and maintain our church programs.   Thank you for your loving support of the Lord’s work.

Appreciation goes out to those who donated, created and delivered 13 Thanksgiving baskets to needy Moravian families evening of November 25, 2008.  God knows who you are. We are thankful for your work of love and grace.
