A Report on AMY in Akiachak: From a Parent
By Marie Miller

 Printer friendly page

I have always wondered how the youth meetings went and God  revealed it to me on this trip to Akiachak. These youth are very much willing and are hungry for God's word. We heard about heaven and hell during the time we were there and there was lots of life changing going for the young and old.

God sent this man named Abraham George and had him testify about  his death experience and that changed a lot of souls during the AMY festival and I heard that lots of people went forward to recieve Jesus as their personalSavior before the AMY started. Praise God!

When we got to Akiachak, we were told they were expecting close to 300 youths, and there was lots of youths on Friday night and the church was always packed with youth and some were standing and that one room was also filled at each meeting.  Angel (Marie's daughter) even said that some were even sitting up front on the floor.

Anyway...I believe the youth that I saw are the next generation that are going to be running our churches. God is preparing these youth to stand up, like we are the next generation from our parents.

What really touched Alice and I was when there was a vote to the  Tundra district for next years AMY festival, there was Kasigluk, Nunap, and Atmautluak.  Majority of the youth voted between Nunap and  Atmautluak, then someone in the audience mentioned to remember that there was no youth group at Kasigluk, then one of the youths raised their hand and said "Who want to help Kasigluk?" and almost all the youth went to the Kasigluk side. That is the power of God.

I thought I would tell you my testimony of the trip to Akiachak.

Thank you very much.
